Cambridge Victorian
Located outside of Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA, this Second Empire Victorian underwent a gut renovation and two-story-kitchen addition. A young family of six required plenty of living and play space and a study for each parent. An elliptical stair now climbs through the center of the house, creating an almost courtyard feel that all rooms can access. The details stay true to a home of this era, yet a playful air abounds. This project was completed while with Hickox Williams Architects. The contractor was F.H. Perry Builders. -
Cohasset Oceanside
Situated on a small peninsula in Cohasset this rambling home has been in the same family for generations. A small colonial home at one end and a 1920's boathouse on the opposite side were retained and renovated. Between these two structures a new main house and wings were inserted. This project was completed while with Hickox Williams Architects. The contractor was Custom Designs, Inc. -
boston garden penthouse
Perched above the Boston Garden, this green duplex penthouse shows that fresh, contemporary design can feel timeless and be richly detailed. All trim detailing occurs within the depth of the walls, resulting in very clean elevations. The naturally finished wood provides a warmth and life rarely found in contemporary design. Top floor collapsible glass doors provide a nearly seamless connection to the exterior stone terrace. This project was completed while with Hickox Williams Architects. The contractor was S&H Construction. -
Aquinnah Cottage
This timber-framed saltbox cottage is sited on a wooded rise just steps from Lobsterville Beach. It maintains an open and minimalist feel, while adding a level of texture and interest with beautiful, natural materials, original art work, and Balinese artifacts. This project was completed by Sargent Studio. The lead carpenter was Todd Bassett and the stone work was by Contact Stone. -
Huron Village house
This new home was built within a former secret-walled garden in the Huron Village section of Cambridge, MA. The heirarchy of forms reflects the New England tradition of homes that grow with time. The neoclassical and colonial revival details blend with the neighborhood, yet are distinct enough to allow the house to stand out. This project was completed while with Hickox Williams Architects. The contractor was Kyle Restoration. -
Arlington Addition
